Westin Las Vegas puts Sin City on sale

Travel industry watchers called it 'The Prince Harry Effect', after Las Vegas bookings went through the roof in the days following Harry's royal romp in Sin City. And while it's clear that what happens in Vegas doesn't, in fact, always stay in Vegas, the prince's wild night did prove another maxim: there's no such thing as bad publicity, especially for the Las Vegas tourism board and the city's many hotels.

One block off the famous Strip, the Westin Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa has teamed up with the Westin Lake Las Vegas, Resort & Spa for a 'Rock & Rehab' package designed to cater to your inner rock star (or royal), offering 25 per cent savings off regular rates. Leading in at $97 (U.S.) per night, the deal includes two nights at The Westin Las Vegas Hotel and two nights at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort, plus transportation from the hotel to the resort.

Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort in Lake Placid, NY is packaging romance and adventure with its 'Golden Additions' deal, for fall getaways with mid-week rates starting from $139 (all prices U.S.) per night. With the Gondola Cruise on Mirror Lake option, for an extra $100 you'll get a lake cruise in a real gondola, during the day or at sunset, weather permitting, through the end of October. You can also 'Add a Little Romance' with a wine tastings, breakfast in bed and more, also $100.
